The Name and Purpose

The desire to begin blogging has been growing in my heart the last several months.  As believers in Christ, we are repeatedly told in Scripture to recount the faithfulness of God and declare His mighty deeds performed on our behalf.  And the purposes for doing so are to edify the saints in the church as well as to proclaim the salvation of God to a needy world.

I thought long and hard as to an appropriate name for this blog and concluded that "The Ways of Grace" adequately summarized the intent.  What I desire to post here are the evidences of the ways of God's grace being worked out in my life and in the life of my family, however small or insignificant they may be.  All that God gives and accomplishes in our lives is a result of His abundant grace worked out on our behalf.  Whether it is teaching from His Word that refreshes our heart, or spontaneous family events that create special memories, or new skills and areas of interest He allows us to learn and pursue - all these things come from His hand of grace.  And they should create a heart of great gratitude!

So if you choose to read what I post here, it is my desire that you see a glimpse as of what God is doing in the little things and that this will lead you to further ponder His own work in your life that will lead to praise and thanksgiving.

O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds.  So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.  ~Psalm 71:17-18
