Wisdom's Words

The distinguishing mark of the church has never been its utopic society but its members’ love for each other . And according to the Parable of the Good Samaritan, the glory of this love shines when it is costly and inconvenient.

Capitol Commission Annual Conference

Just last week I was privileged to be part of a host team as we welcomed state directors and their wives from all over the nation for the Capitol Commission Conference.  It was so much fun to take them around our beautiful city and showcase Hoosier hospitality!

It was a special treat to have all our sessions and meetings in the Indiana senate chamber.  We were privileged to have Lt. Governor Sue Ellpersmann, State Treasure Kelly Mitchell, Rep. Randy Frye, and Rep. Timothy Wesco address our group.

We also arranged to have a morning devotional in the Governor's office.

The Lord gave us beautiful weather for several memorable outings together.  A board member planned an afternoon at Hinkle Fieldhouse and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Measuring the goal to make sure it's 10 feet tall!

At the IMS with a special friend.

On Tuesday afternoon, I helped to plan an outing for all the women in the group.  Surrey rides around the canal were a perfect way to enjoy the beauty of the city and mention particular landmarks.  The ladies loved it!!!

It was a wonderful several days together!  I so appreciated the opportunity to meet our state directors and hear what God is doing through them in their capitols throughout the country.  Given the hostility that Christianity is now encountering in the political arena, these men need our prayers more than ever as they seek to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to our nation's leaders.  Please be praying with with me that God continue to equip them and his Word go forth to change the hearts and lives of those leading our country.

Wisdom's Words

This is absolutely certain:  Nothing can frustrate his plans;  nothing can make him forego what he has promised; nothing can cause him to change what he has purposed with respect to you.

A Special Announcement... :)

This set up last Saturday afternoon brought a smile to my face:

Yes, a crown for each little person, including Samuel (who was napping at that time).

But soon there will be need for more paper and jewels for another little head.

No, I'm not joking - it's true!

Baby #7 is on the way!!!

Wisdom's Words

Wherever Christ is, there is God; and whatever Christ does is the act of the Most High. It is a joyful truth to consider that He who stands today representing the interests of His people is very God of very God, to whom every knee shall bow. We are happy to belong to such a shepherd, whose humanity communes with us and whose divinity protects us. Let us worship and bow down before Him as the people of His pasture.

Wisdom's Words

The secret of joy in the hardest of times is the supremacy of the sovereignty of Christ and the supremacy of the sweetness of Christ.

Wisdom's Words

Do not say, my soul, "Where will God find one to relieve my care?"
Remember that Omnipotence has servants everywhere.
His method is sublime and His heart profoundly kind, God is never too early and never behind!
