Kathy's Bridal Shower

Saturday, January 6, 2018 marked another special occasion as we hosted Kathy's bridal shower.  I'm grateful for all those who helped me make it a success!  Several ladies baked homemade scones, and we served mini quiches, yogurt and granola, hot tea (brewed in tea pots!), and coffee.  Very warm and inviting given the bitter cold temperatures outdoors.  We were also grateful that Rachael could be with us fresh off her honeymoon.

Kathy shared how the Lord brought her and Nathan together and also specific ways the group could be praying for her as she transitions to life as a pastor's wife many miles away from home.  We were touched when several ladies prayed for her right then.

Mom read the letter of a woman Kathy had to grown to love and admire during her days at seminary. Words full of wisdom and insight for women called to be helpers.

We had two male guests at the shower:  Isaiah Smith and little James Turner.  Based on this brief interaction between Isaiah and Katie caught on camera, I can't help but wonder if this is the makings of another shower in the future... ;) Big sister protecting little brother from an innocent intruder.

The opening of gifts marked the conclusion of the shower.

Now we are in the midst of planning another wedding less than a month away!  We would appreciate your prayers as we enjoy these days together and prepare our hearts for more major changes just around the corner.
