2015 Statehouse Prayer Service

The Statehouse Prayer Service yesterday was an incredible way to begin the 2015 legislative session! It truly was amazing to have so many dedicated people brave the cold and snowy weather and gather together to pray for our state and country.  Also present were Governor Mike Pence and First Lady Karen Pence as well as officials from all of Indiana's statewide offices and over thirty senators and representatives.  We truly do live in a great state!

I was grateful that Mom and Rachael were able to attend with me this year.  Rachael and I somehow managed to color-coordinate our outfits for the day.

I was thrilled to finally see the Public Servants' Prayer banner I designed last month!

One of my roles was to staff our information table.  I really enjoyed meeting all the people who stopped by and asked questions.

At the end of the service, the entire Capitol Commission Indiana team gathered on stage for a group picture.

Pam Russell, Rachelle Myers, and Ruth Salmons

What a wonderful kick-off to four months of ministry at our capitol building!  There are many important bills facing our legislature that will shape the course of Indiana's future.  Yesterday was a good reminder to faithfully bring these matters and our lawmakers to the One who is the King of kings and Lord of lords.

It is good to see that there was a great turn out. By the way the new banner looks good.
